‘Envaid’ aims to encourage people to explore their local environment or travel further afield and take care of the spaces they venture into.
Challenging littering, Envaid hopes to reconnect people with nature and encourage them to appreciate what it has to offer. The easily transportable, folding litter picker and sectioned collection bag makes it easy for anyone to pick up some rubbish while out and about.
Whether you collect a handful of rubbish on your walk to work or fill the whole bag on a weekend hike, this product encourages everyone to do their bit and take the time to appreciate the environment.
Research
Research through, user trials, interviews, found objects led to an explorative approach to the reconnecting with nature 5 week brief.
Secondary research analysed current interactions with nature, waste material initiatives, biomimicry and anthropometric data to ensure an appropriate design outcome which was comfortable to operate.
Development
Sketching and prototyping were used to expand on the initial idea and improve the function and ergonomic aspects of the design.
Instruction Booklet and Poster
The instruction booklet in the lid provides guidance on items to collect, safety information and how to operate the litter picker. Preliminary sketches were used to draft the layout of the graphic elements below.
